This is increasing after the pandemic-induced negative disruption in 2020. The packaging market has a growing share in it [1]. In Industry 4.0; the manpower, machinery, and printing processes are in the network digitally [2]. Accurate and precise data is controlling the production and digital twins are an important tool for increased overall efficiency and sustainability. Digital twins are connected from the sensors to the cloud-based software which can be accessed by all the stakeholders such as manufacturers, intermediate supply chain managers, wholesale clients, and end-use customers. Therefore, digital twins are an important part of Industry 4.0. In the print & packaging industry, due to increased automation, the investments in plant and machinery are increasing but customers expect cost reductions with an emphasis on quality and sustainability measures. The order quantities are reducing and demand for short-run customized products is increasing. The customers expect the printing companies to follow international standards diligently. There are several benefits of digital twins in the printing and packaging industry which result in saving time, manpower, cost and thus reducing the adverse impact on the environment in terms of effluents, use of power etc. thus increasing overall equipment efficiency and sustainability.
  <publication_date media_type='online'> <month>07</month> <day>30</day> <year>2024</year> </publication_date> <pages> <first_page>27</first_page> <last_page>31</last_page> </pages> <crossmark> <crossmark_version>CC-BY-NC-ND 4.0</crossmark_version> <crossmark_policy>10.35940/BEIESP.CrossMarkPolicy</crossmark_policy> <crossmark_domains> <crossmark_domain> <domain>www.ijrte.org</domain> </crossmark_domain> </crossmark_domains> <crossmark_domain_exclusive>true</crossmark_domain_exclusive> <custom_metadata> <assertion explanation='Journal Name' group_label='Journal Name' group_name='Journal' name='Declaration' order='0'>International Journal of Recent Technology and Engineering (IJRTE)</assertion> <assertion explanation='Funding' group_label='Funding' group_name='Funding' name='Declaration' order='1'>No, I didn’t receive.</assertion> <assertion explanation='Conflicts of Interest' group_label='Conflicts of Interest' group_name='Conflicts-of-Interest' name='Declaration' order='2'>No conflicts of interest to the best of our knowledge.</assertion> <assertion explanation='Ethical Approval and Consent to Participate' group_label='Ethical Approval and Consent to Participate' group_name='Ethical-Approval-and-Consent-to-Participate' name='Declaration' order='3'>No, the article does not require ethical approval and consent to participate with evidence.</assertion> <assertion explanation='Availability of Data and Material' group_label='Availability of Data and Material' group_name='Availability-of-Data-and-Material' name='Declaration' order='4'>Not relevant.</assertion> <assertion explanation='Authors Contributions' group_label='Authors Contributions' group_name='Authors-Contributions' name='Declaration' order='5'>All authors have equal participation in this article.</assertion> </custom_metadata> </crossmark> <doi_data> <doi>10.35940/ijrte.B8113.13020724</doi> <resource>https://www.ijrte.org/portfolio-item/B811313020724/</resource> </doi_data> </journal_article>
