Abstract: In this research, an effort has been made to provide solutions to water pollution with the utilisation of Rice Husk (RH) & Rice Husk Ash (RHA). It has been accomplished by making water purification filters with RH & RHA. The filters blocks consisting RH& RH were prepared by mixing up of different percentage of RH, RHA, fine aggregate and cement. The ingredients of filter blocks were mixed up in required composition. Casted filter were set for drying followed by the process of curing. Water quality analysis of Pond water, River water & Kitchen waste water was analysed. Various parameters of water passed through different filter blocks were analysed, hence determining the efficiency of the treatment. The main intention of this research work was to reduce the hardness, chloride concentration, presence of turbidity, sulphates and iron content from water samples collected from various locations by using RH based filters and RHA based filters. To determine the reusability of column filter, different sets of experiments were performed. Through these experimental results obtained, it was noticed that the efficiency of column filter was near about 5% after 5 cycles of process. Thus, this study helps to know how RHA can be effectively utilized as filters and about the various parameters that can be removed from the waste water by using RHA based filters.
