Abstract: This paper explores the method of early detection and prevention of aperiodic small signal rotor angle (ASD) instability. A criterion for ASD stability detection is tested on a synthetic system. Sensitivity analysis is utilized to seek the node that would have the most influence on the generator undergoing said instability.
