Abstract: Identifying the person using the unique textures of face, ear and fingerprint can be extracted very swiftly during the recognition process. Preprocessing the acquired image and extracting the necessary features from the preprocessed image are very important for any image based applications. The success of the process is entirely depending on the conflux rate and efficiency of such techniques. But, because of the negligence of the implication of these techniques results in the failure of the process. In this paper, appropriate pre-processing techniques are identified to extract the necessary features from the images for better performance.
