Abstract: Internet of Things is a network of connected devices which can communicate with each other in different manner. The establishment of network not only contains connected devices but also contains control and management of devices to provide secure and reliable services. These devices can have wired connection or wireless connection. This paper not only compare both the connection strategies but also introduced a wired network simulation through NS-2 on UDP protocol in which we designed the 5-node wired scenario in which node 0, node 1 and node 2 as source node & node 3 as router node and node 4 as a destination node. Also, analysis is being done for packet flow scenario, performance of designed wired network using Xgraph in simulation through which the result shows the packet drop due to the range of parameter packet rate. This paper will be an attempt to compare wired and wireless with an emphasis on security speed and other parameters. As a result of this we conclude there is a need of wired connection for our work-in-progress and for the development of new hybrid approach which combines advantages of both the connection strategies in order to meet all the requirements. Hence future research directions propose other parameters along with use of TCP connection for improved and smart control system.
