Abstract: An Iodine catalyzed multi component synthesis of N, N’ –Disubstituted Guanidines in one pot three steps reaction from the reaction of benzoyl chloride, ammonium thiocyanate, amine and ammonia via substitution/ addition/desulphurization under mild reaction conditions.
