Abstract: The generalized model of Indirect Field Oriented control of Induction motor is described in this manuscript. The speed regulator of the closed loop system is simulated by Sliding Mode Controller (SMC) and the performance is equated with thatt of field-oriented control. The performance parameters of both the controllers are tabulated. The simulation of Sliding Mode Control shows superior characteristics in the variations of parameter and load changes.
